Grill Thermometer
What is the correct way to use a thermometer?

Today I was cooking sausages and the pack. He said to cook to 180 degrees when it was, so they cook on the grill for 30 to 35 minutes in 35 minutes through heat. After I tested the temperature of the thermometer inserted along the right path through the center of the sausage, all on the thermometer and read 220 degrees. So thought I was a little high, so try again but this time I was in the middle like a plus sign, but stopped just before the tip went through the bottom of the sausage and read 160 degrees. So then I tried a right through the angel, as the sign more inclined and stopped before the end of the thermometer passed through the bottom of the sausage and read 182 degrees. My the question is what is the correct way to use a thermometer? Can the bottom of the thermometer passing through the bottom of the meat was not only U use the tip of it, or you simply need to insert only a inch of it in the flesh to get an exact temperature?

For almost all cooking thermometers, is only the tip of the thermometer that registers the temperature. Usually you are interested in the thickest part of meat that is not touching the bone. In general, and of course in the case of sausage, this is right in the center of meat. The instructions I have usually heard are "the tip of the thermometer display and until you enter in the thicker central part of the flesh." Some thermometers are meant to abide in the flesh all the time you are cooking. Others are intended to be inserted only a few seconds, take a speed reading, then exit. One is that they are designed to stay in are usually called "thermometers roast" or something. The more fast are often known as "instant read thermometers." I prefer roasting thermometers. I think they tend to be more accurate since they have more time to "stabilize" the actual temperature of the meat. Roasted thermometers usually have a larger dial on them. Like 2 or 3 inches in diameter. At the time reading thermometers usually have a very small area and they usually come with the sleeve of a "" which has a pen clip bit like him. Professional chefs this clip to your shirt and paste in things all the time to check its doneness. Be careful. If you stop a moment to read heat in the oven or barbecue, is likely to melt and ruin himself and his flesh.
