I'm trying something I've never done. Cooking pork chops, corn on the cob, potatoes on the grill propane. that corn found in the freezer, I thaw before? My plan was to wrap potatoes in foil, start them an hour later, put corn in tin foil first, then cook the pork chops.

Are you sick and tired of not knowing what to do or what to cook when you go camping? Do you or pack the entire kitchen (including sink) or lead the absolute minimum and then having to use a fork as a spatula or two spoons as tongs?
If that sounds even the least familiar then you are in the right place. During the last decade or so I've perfected a list of 7 things I use every time I prepare for my next camping trip.
These strategies are relevant when car camping, primitive camping RV camping camping scout group or large. You can easily apply through any type of travel, that is what really makes it worthwhile.
So here they are:
1. The meal plan – Okay common sense right? Good, does not include this as the first and most important element to get yelled at! But seriously, if you do not plan meals ahead of time not only does not know what you'll eat well has no idea what to pack, as it relates to cooking equipment. Need a spatula or tongs? Need a strainer or a frying pan?
2. Plan of the Gear – This follows directly from the number 1. Now that you know what you will eat during the journey which now can calculate exactly what utensils, pots, pans, containers cooking and various other types of equipment you need. And more importantly what equipment is necessary! My family and I do a lot of tent which means we took my wife's SUV, so we have a very limited amount of room we have to pack all our things "" in. If you only need a 2-quart saucepan and a small pan and guess what, 9 pots and pans and 4 others to stay home fry!
3. Plan the Condiments – Have you ever went camping and once there you realize you do not have ketchup, mustard or a taste for the steakburger nice, hot and juicy cooked just for you? Have you ever went camping and it took 10 minutes to find the garlic powder, and to find their own way to the bottom of the box to keep all your spices in? There's a fine line between have too many spices / condiments and not having enough, but you have to walk that line. Even if you have a 40 foot Class A Mega Super Duper Motor home, you only have much space. Sit and look at the recipe that will use and then figure out what spices / condiments you can bring and what to leave at home.
4. 10% higher – Get food 10% more, then I think we should take. If your family usually eats 4 hamburgers, take 5 or 6. If you usually eat 6 pieces of corn on the cob take 8. I do not know for sure what it is but whenever you go camping, everyone seems to be hungry all the time. It may be because they are running around doing more things or it may be something in the air, I do not know.
5. KIS – Keep It Simple. Realize that you will be in the middle of the forest. Is it possible to cook a Rack of Lamb with Herb-Dijon Nut Crust, Parisienne potatoes, green beans wrapped in mashed carrots ring and Sweet Potato Basket? Yes, it is technically possible. If you try that? Heck No! Do not get me wrong, I'm not saying the plan 3 Dimensions of milk and cereals. I remember saying that, where else, and utensils are mostly primitive have at their disposal. 6. Test runs-If you're planning on cooking over an open fire or using a new grill, or cook in your RV for the first time on your next trip … Do not Do It! Always, always, always do a test run at home before leaving it. Build a small fire in your backyard and see if need some charcoal to enhance the wood fire and make more even cooking. Make sure you know how to connect this new grid and points are hot. It's not really a lot of fun to go out into the woods somewhere and burn to ashes dinner or have to sit on the bottom of the fire because of bad operation of a "team". So always do a test.
7. Try a new Treat – Remembrance of the strategy number 6, my family always tries to When a new treatment going camping. Whether it's a new recipe for our pot of green beans or a little naughty snack after dinner, try something new each time. This has to mean something exotic that you are not sure of the animals, whether you like. Look around on the internet, there are plenty of campfire / Dutch oven recipes out there for you to try.
Well that's it, that's my list of 7 Need to Know Campsite Cooking Strategies. This is not a wish list or group of things I took out of nowhere. I use this list each and every time a trip plan for my family, my friends and my troop. This list if used properly will keep you in good stead for their trip. You will not remain without food, not eat soft food, not take home a ton of unused food and possibly in poor condition and is more important task will be no dinner while camping.
