From what I've read most Americans run scared when hear the word. Most have never been to Western Europe were the work of socialism in general very good. Free health cover, which are good, better education, we have free speech, free press, we have the right to make money and most importantly, help people who can not help themselves. I great society can only be judged by how people are treated in the background.

I think the American are confusing socialism with communism. America already has the beginning socialism with education, police, army, fire. Every county in Western Europe implement the principles of socialism to one degree or another. We do not have bad teeth, long food lines or long lines for anything. We run companies themselves are not told how to think, you can buy anything you want in stores, have cable TV, restaurants do not pay high taxes. The list goes on and on here in the UK is beginning to pay taxes once they earn more than almost £ 6,000 ($ 10,000) and then starts its only 10% and then at the other end of your 45% for higher incomes, but with a good accountant will need to pay much less.
