English saddle a horse in the West? Help costumes, too?
For Halloween, I will use my horse by my costume. Some kind of medieval fantasy. An elf, probably. So … I have two questions for you all. 1. My rides western mustang. However, the saddle that I have is … purple. No joke. I would love, no more use as it does not match my suit. However, I have a beautiful black English saddle in my junk room. Hence, I wonder if I would be able to get away with using that for one night. I'm not doing much with it, but walking and jogging from time to time perhaps. But that's all. 2. Do you have any idea what it could do with my horse? He is a mustang in black and white paint. Gelding. I like to do something with it for my costume, but I'm not sure. All design ideas that might put him with Twinkle, or ideas for dressing him? Note that is a medieval costume. Thank you!
While the English saddle fits him, his horse does not care if you use it. However, if you are not accustomed to travel in an English saddle, you can sorry. It is best to make you feel comfortable in the saddle trot English. In my experience, it's easy for a pilot English for the transition to a saddle Western, but Western runners trying to learn English may have a harder time. So if you do not know how to ride a chair of English, start practicing now! I suppose another option might be a kind of curtain fabric on its western saddle. I've seen people do this to make a medieval-looking chair anyway. Simply cut a hole for engaging the fabric on the horn and cut slits in the sides for stirrups to pass. Make sure your horse gets used to it so flutter tissue not frighten your horse!
