Awful Games – Pesterminator the Western Exterminator
The Roma culture is traditionally oral, not written. The genocide by the Third Reich is probably the most striking example of how history can be neglected. However, the persecution of the Roma has its roots in his first documented appearance in Europe around 1447. Although he emigrated to Europe from India, often confused with the Muslim invaders of the East because they followed the way of Iran, Armenia and the Byzantine Empire and crossed the borders of Southeastern Europe. They were also confused with the Egyptians, where the word Gypsy 'is derived. Regardless, his appearance, laws were enacted against them and centuries of discrimination, forced assimilation, persecution, slavery and the slaughter continued.
Currently, Roma live in appalling conditions are the most discriminated and disadvantaged ethnic group in Europe. Restricted or no access to health and education, high unemployment, denial of residence permits and the nomadic life in the extreme poverty are the main features of the existence of marginalized Roma. All these physical difficulties are associated with stereotypes of discrimination and social prejudice against them in most European countries leading to physical abuse and humiliation of human dignity.
Lifestyle Roma and the social situation has not changed for centuries. Wandering in the nomads, to be self-sufficient and speak their own language, Romany, Roma have emerged many prejudices largely due to their distinctive socio-cultural characteristics. The stigma of ethnic difference remains in any activity and distinguishes Westerners, educated, civilized, socially acceptable people.
The Roma have always been considered socially deviant. Not only Hitler and the Third Paveli Reich or before? and Ustasha who turned against them. Their extermination in Auschwitz concentration camp Jasenovac, and is what the historical evidence has shown. Recent Slovakia studies showed that only 18 percent of Slovak citizens of Roma positive thinking. A report from Minority Rights Organization in Serbia, suggested that Roma children face hostility in the classroom, both teachers and classmates. In the Czech Republic and Hungary there is a growing concern about instances of discrimination against Roma partners in cases of abortion.
After the fall of communism in Europe in 1989 defeated by racism and uncertainty, some nomadic Roma migrated to Western Europe. However, Europe was disappointed by the number of social reforms economic and had to be done, Gypsies in the perfect scapegoat for any community tension and violent incidents. The mainstream population saw the Roma as direct competitors, although they were neither trained nor expertise to take on any job opportunity.
At its extreme, Gypsies have always resisted efforts to assimilate into society. Being loud, rather lazy, and prone to crime had put Roma on the position of the prohibition hotels, restaurants, swimming pools, social life, and made increasingly the target of violence by ethnic nationalists, skinheads and other nationalist radicals.
At present, it is estimated that about 12-15 million Roma worldwide, with 8 to 10 million live in Europe. It's strange how they can be forgotten when representing nearly 10 percent of the population of Central and Eastern Europe, who live mainly in Bulgaria, Romania, Hungary, Slovakia and Serbia. Is quite shocking that behind the European vision, there is a truth like this, but even more terrible that nothing is done to stop it.
