Mahmoud Fadl
Mahmoud Fadl, the celebrated master of Nubia Drummer was born in 1955. He grew up in the cities of Aswan and Cairo, Egypt, Nubia and its history is based on the Griot culture of "Battikol" people. Mahmoud started as a musician in Nubia and Arabic wedding events, and a limbo dancer. It soon became much sought after commodity, playing with the likes of Ahmed Adawi and Nubian legend Ali Hassan Kuban. After a series of international tours, Mahmoud Fadl secured a place for music in Europe and began to develop an international portfolio.
The Nubia people legacy extends far to antiquity, before the Egyptian civilization. Some recent findings have suggested that French archaeologists before Nubia-date Egypt by as much as 3,000 years and is in all likelihood, the origin of Egyptian civilization. The flooding of the Aswan Dam, and Mahmoud Fadl forced thousands of Nubians to leave their homeland in Nubia, which is found today in northern Sudan and southern Egypt and Nubia-old drowned, and countless Nubian monuments and historical sites.
As musical director, Mahmoud Fadl has contributed to four albums a project called "Salamat", published in the records of Piranha, which focused in the music of the legendary culture of Nubia and suppressed. He has four albums released under his own name and one of them paid tribute to the deceased Nubia pan-Arab diva Umm Kalthoum, showing the voice of Salwa Abou Greisha family Greisha Nubian musicians, accompanied by the Cairo Opera House. Drummers Mahmud album of Nile ", the specification of early music along the Nile, and collaborates with colleagues batteries and Hamdi Matoul Hargalaan Gaafar, Nubian wedding diva Salma and many musicians. Today, Mahmoud travels between Cairo and Berlin working on various projects. His current project of tribal house, entitled "United Nubians "has earned much international acclaim in the vibrant Berlin club scene. Besides his work as a musician, actor and fashion designer, Mahmoud Fadl performs frequently with the West African Griot Ensemble "Saf-Sap" in eastern wedding and musical workshops.
